OUR CLIENT’S GARDENS
“the number of times i thought to myself today ‘i’m so glad i’m not doing this alone’ wAS A LOT OF TIMES”
Meghan L.
“Lauren showed us how fulfilling and doable home gardening is. She helped us unlock a part of our yard to dedicate to growing our own fruits and vegetables.
We now drink our morning coffee beside our garden, harvest fresh produce regularly with our young girls, and cook tasty meals more often.
It's completely changed the rhythms of our home for the better.”

TURNING LANDSCAPES INTO GARDENS
Landscaping is often treated as a commodity, where basic solutions are employed at cheap rates to move quickly and move on. Landscaping services are typically bought and sold with a focus on good margins and growing client lists. Gardens are the opposite.
Throughout history, gardens have always required owners who love them as an art form — and a method of self-expression and wellbeing.
Gardens are not quick, require patience, and a sense of ownership and future-thinking by the people who create them.
Our offering may feel like landscaping some days but we offer something that no one else does: Floral-minded design, same-team installations, ongoing care and development.
With a commitment to sustainability and horticultural excellence, we strive to operate in ways that the current landscaping industry does not. We specialize in perennials, cut flowers, edible spaces, spring bulbs and ephemerals, and exterior design – often with a European-meets-native sensibility.
By its very nature, we must keep a small team and work with a select number of properties each year to maintain our gardens, and build beloved friendships with the humans who author them.

If you are in North Carolina or nearby, likely yes!
We currently can only implement and care for gardens in Winston-Salem, NC, but we can offer design and consultations in Greensboro, High Point, Statesville, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Asheville, Hendersonville, Hickory, Greenville SC, and any location in-between those cities.
-
Yes! Consultations can be used to kick off the beginning of a turnkey design and install process with the Floricult team, or to ask questions and brainstorm before you begin a new project on your own.

Everything we do is designed to support the natural, cyclical, self-sustaining processes of the earth. We very rarely use herbicides or pesticides on your property, and almost exclusively work with organic biologicals for fertilizers and soil amendments. Many products on the market today disrupt the biology of the soil food web in addition to having a negative impact on your plant’s health and your personal health. Our goal is to help you build your soil and plant selections to reduce their reliance on any outside inputs!
-
Native perennials and regional heirlooms support your local wildlife, the health of your soil, and our local independent growers operating in a shrinking market.
During the 70’s and 80’s, imported ornamental varieties took over the gardening world and has put a strain on our bird and insect population.
While we often incorporate ornamental non-natives that thrive in our local environment, we strive to plant native perennials to support wildlife and the growers keeping these varieties alive.
-
Usually yes! We encourage participation when it comes to yard maintenance, site prep, planting, mulching, and other tasks. Because we care about your safety, we do not collaborate on bed builds or projects requiring machinery (leveling, etc). We will ask you to sign a waiver — and your kids are also welcome, as long as you are responsible for their safety.

In addition to gardening since I was 9, I am a Certified Community Garden Leader in Forsyth County, am pursuing a Horticulture program, and have completed Dan Pearson’s Naturalist Garden Design course. I am an avid researcher and pay special attention to soil science, the soil food web, and perennials native to the Southeast.
I have helped create over 50 gardens here in Winston-Salem, and continue to grow produce for my neighborhood, save seeds, and write a weekly garden newsletter. I also teach classes on garden planning, soil science, and starting seeds indoors.
I’ve been featured on WXII, have taught at Reynolda Gardens, and probably answered your bff’s gardening Q’s on Instagram.
