In-person consultations are a fun way to get to know each other and begin getting you closer to the garden you want!
Consultations can be used either as (a) a one-off session to brainstorm immediate solutions and ask advice of a garden professional, or as (b) a working session to kick off a design process together.
How long will it last?
Typically between 45-90 minutes, with a $125 fee. A travel fee of $60/hour for locations outside of Winston-Salem will be added.
DO I NEED TO PREPARE ANYTHING?
The best thing you can prepare is an answer to the question, “How do you want to feel when you’re outside?” Peaceful, zen, cheerful, playful, productive, part of a larger ecosystem, like you’re on holiday in the countryside, like an urban farmer, like an experimental florist, like a visitor at an elegant retreat, like a tourist in a garden. There are no wrong answers.
WHAT IS THE APPROPRIATE INVESTMENT FOR MY OUTDOOR SPACE?
Traditionally, landscape investment sits between 10-20% of a home’s value. This is based on studies showing that landscaping increases a home’s value by 15-20% — and with recent demand for outdoor living, it can add 25%+.
However, this is not about resale. Your outdoor space is the largest room of your home, a primary contribution to your wellness, the backdrop to your greatest friendships, and a key element to healthy childhood development.
Lauren will partner with you to make the right investments and avoid unnecessary costs. It takes 2-3 years for a property reach its fullest potential, so projects can be phased and planned for.
